Wobage

If you leave Ross as though going to the M50, take the A442 instead and almost immediately turn right for Crow Hill. Here you will find Wobage Farm - home and workshops for renowned potters Mick and Sheila Casson. The farm workshops now accomodate eight makers who are all producing their individual ranges of hand-made contemporary crafts.
The woodwork and jewellery workshops adjoin the main pottery which opens onto a grassy courtyard, flanked by the magnificent 18th century threshing barn and haybarn. These are now used as a Summer exhibition space and gallery respectively. Across the yard are the outdoor wood and gas-fired salt and soda kilns and further pottery workshops. Beyond the confines of the courtyard are the wood and materials stores, gardens and orchards. Surrounded by rolling fields bounded by ancient hedgerows, Wobage is inspiration for the makers and visitors alike.
The large exhibition space of the converted barns allows for a wide selection of items from each maker to be on display at any given time. The different makers take turns to staff the gallery, so you will have the opportunity to meet one or more of them during opening times. If you wish to meet a particular maker or visit at a time when the gallery is not usually open, please telephone first.
Visitors are welcome to picnic in the grounds and a visit to Wobage Makers Gallery is a truly delightful experience for anyone who appreciates fine crafts and the opportunity to buy something which is of lasting value and pleasure.
